Central Finland Sport Federation (KesLi)  is a non-governmental and non-political sports federation located in Jyväskylä, Finland. KesLi was founded in November 1993, and it is one of 15 regional sport federations. It has approx. 150 member organisations.

KesLi’s mission is to support well-being in Central Finland through exercise and sports. The vitality and competence of local sport and exercise service providers, as well as their ability to meet the needs and requirements of active individuals, are most important.

KesLi’s operational region has 22 municipalities and about 450 sport and exercise organisations, as well as numerous public health organisations and other communities that maintain exercise in their activities. KesLi’s membership is open to all registered associations organizing sports, as well as to legal entities and registered foundations on the basis of a written application. Most of KesLi’s member associations are sport and exercise organisations from Central Finland.

KesLi’s target is
- to promote the quality and quantity of sports in Central Finland.
- to provide services for local sport organisations
- to promote and support voluntary non-profit work in sports through sports politics, education and communication
- to make voluntarism in sport a target of conscious politics
- to ensure that sport is ethically sustainable: equal, transparent, environmentally friendly, multicultural and fair

KesLi promotes four areas of sport activities
- Children, adapted and youth sport
- Sport for all
- Elite sport
- Promotion of interests in sports

Services for sport organisations

KesLi carries out annually sport organisation training events, and training events for the development of sport organisation’s operations. Development of sport organisation activities is supported by organizing meetings and seminars for member organisations on current topics in sport and exercise. Each year, around 600 sport organisation representatives from Central Finland participate in educational events.

Children and youth sport

Children and youth sport are a central part of KesLi’s activities. Each year, KesLi trains approx. 1,000 instructors and coaches, who work with under 18s in sport organisations and other associations, daycare centres, educational institutions or after-school activities. The training is base level or further sport education, after which participants can continue to sport trainings organized by sport federations for example. Trainings can excite and introduce individuals with no prior experience in sport organisations, to sports instruction and coaching. Additionally, we organize or are involved in organizing youth sport events and campaigns.

Adult sport

KesLi organizes training for those interested in adult sports instruction, as well as various activity days for professionals in health enhancing physical activity. The trainings aim to encourage sports organisations and other associations to take responsibility for moving the adult population. KesLi operates as a regional developer and coordinator of adult sports, with around 3500 participants attending in KesLi’s events annually.
